What Is Psychological Therapy?
When challenges overwhelm us we can be left feeling disconnected from ourselves and others and confused about where we want to go. Psychological therapy can help us find tools to overcome these challenges.
I am an endorsed clinical psychologist specialising in mindfulness-based therapies. I combine these with other effective evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Gottman Couple’s Therapy to treat a range of issues including:
- Depression and bipolar
- Eating issues
- Addictive behaviours
- Sleep problems
- Academic/work performance
- Relationship difficulties
I recognise that every person who comes to see me is an individual, with their own unique personality and innate strengths. Because of this, I design a new therapy for everyone I work with, drawing on their innate resources as well as a number of evidence-based techniques and approaches. Together we will quickly get to the core of your issue, set clear goals for treatment and use practical techniques right from the first session.
Fees & rebates
The standard fee for 50 minutes is $200, payable at the end of each session by card, cash, cheque or bank transfer. A reduced fee may be negotiated for concession card holders or people experiencing genuine financial hardship.
You may be eligible for a rebate of $124.50 per session from Medicare. This requires getting a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP (book a double appointment with your GP to discuss this further).
Some private health funds also offer a rebate. Check with your provider for more information. I am also registered to provide services under Workcover.

Please note that due to high demand I currently have a waiting list of around 3 to 4 months. I am happy to put you on it, but if your issue is urgent you may wish to ask your GP to refer you to another psychologist or use the APS Find A Psychologist service.
In the meantime, you may wish to do my six-week Mindful Stress Reduction course. It will give you practical tools for improving your mental health and is an excellent adjunct to therapy.
I offer therapy sessions Mondays and Tuesdays 11am to 7pm (last appointment at 6pm) and Thursdays 8am to 1pm (subject to availability).
