Mindful Stress Reduction
This 4-week course introduces the practice of mindfulness in a simple, practical way. The course focuses on reducing stress, although participants report a range of other benefits. Sessions run 730 to 9pm for 4 consecutive Monday nights. I am also able to provide courses in your workplace.
In the course, you will learn how to establish a daily mindfulness meditation practice, beginning with a sustainable amount (10 minutes a day) and building from there. I will then teach you how to apply mindfulness in your life to:
- Improve focus
- Learn to accept difficult experiences
- Deal more effectively with emotions
- Increase focus, memory and productivity
- Overcome limiting thoughts and beliefs
- Communicate more mindfully
- Increase empathy
The course is suitable for people experiencing stress, anxiety or depression, as well as anyone wanting to improve their productivity, relationships and general wellbeing. No prior experience with mindfulness or meditation is necessary, although people with previous experience regularly attend and find it beneficial for integrating mindfulness more fully into their lives.
The course costs $295 which includes a manual and a recorded mindfulness practices. A rebate of $126.60 is available with a Medicare mental health care plan.
