Dr Richard Chambers, BA (Hons), DPsych (Clinical), MAPS, MACPA

I am a clinical psychologist and mindfulness consultant. I specialise in using mindfulness and other effective evidence-based interventions to treat a range of issues, including:

  • Eating issues
  • Addictive behaviours
  • Sleep problems
  • Academic/work performance
  • Relationship difficulties

At Monash University, I am leading a university-wide mindfulness approach with Campus Community Division where all students and staff learn mindfulness to enhance their wellbeing and performance. I co-created the free Mindfulness For Wellbeing And Peak Performance online course, which has had over 200,000 users so far and in 2015 was ranked in the Top 50 Free Online Courses Of All Time by Class Central.

I helped to develop Smiling Mind, a free smartphone and web app with 1.4 million downloads. Our shared vision is to see mindfulness in the Australian school curriculum by 2020 and we are well on the way to achieving this.

I am the author of The Art Of Mindful Origami and co-author of Mindful Learning, published by Exisle (Australia) and Shambhala (US) and Mindful Relationships (Exisle).
